8 July – 23 August
Fabrica – Brighton
The installation is a strange caul like structure imitating the inside of an animal stomach, is has a very beautiful white lace look, which on a large scale makes quite an impact. The interior is shaped like a church and has been suspended giving it an ethereal look as it sways gently in the door breeze, the lights from the windows also suggest the last lights in the tunnel of deaths journey or even clouds, a lovely place to contemplate and reflect.
The artist previous work has used many unusual items from nature, this one http://elpihv.co.uk/works/butterflies shows the inside of the stomach caul with light, another work ‘Epidermis” required 2,500 salmon skins and 1,500 bones!
The roof area of the altar shown below has not been backed on plastic so it will decay and disintegrate over the coming month.
Fabrica have a series of events in July
