N.B. The architecture displays at Circus Street Market
Quick get to the art college to see Fashion & Textiles, Painting, Print, Graphic design and illustration, Sculpture, Moving image, Critical Practice and Photography, on now until the 14th June 2015.
The stand out area for me this year was the sculpture, budgies in a cage, Chihuahua dogs looking in a mirror, teen bedrooms, hair weave huts and a ballon holding up a heavy ladder.. you end up looking at the most mundane objects to see if it has something going on.. which is the point I think.
The painting was more adventurous this year too – quite a lot of sexual imagery and subjects around the body.
The fashion and textiles displays are works of art in themselves, lovely prints by Laura Beirne: modern heraldry crossed with a monkey puzzle tree.
So much to see, please do go along and support our creative future with all the cuts coming, the arts are yet again under threat.
